Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and support secure, reliable and scalable IT infrastructure across on‑premises, hybrid‑cloud and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with Network Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Software Engineering teams to ensure resilient systems for enterprise applications, scientific research and AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft infrastructure, Windows Server and Azure resources.
• Proficient with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter.
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls and VPNs.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure incl. servers, storage, networking and cloud services.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python for automation.
• Ability to document, runbooks and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain server, storage, virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
• Administer Windows Server, Linux and Azure services; manage IAM components.
• Manage VMware environments (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter).
• Maintain core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, backup, DR, monitoring).
• Handle patching, upgrades, lifecycle planning and capacity management.
• Troubleshoot incidents and ensure secure infrastructure configurations.
