Up to £50,000 | 5 Days Onsite | Infrastructure / Networking / Windows Server
We’re supporting an established IT services business in Wimbledon that’s looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its technical team.
The business works closely with its customers, taking the time to understand their environments and deliver reliable, well-considered technical solutions.
Unlike some traditional IT services environments, the focus here isn’t on rushing through support tickets or chasing resolution numbers. It’s about having the technical knowledge, ownership and attention to detail to investigate issues thoroughly and deliver solutions that work.
They’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, has confidence in their technical ability and wants to settle into a business where they can make a genuine long‑term contribution.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll take ownership of more complex technical issues across customer infrastructure, networking, Windows environments and security systems.
You’ll act as a senior technical resource within the team, troubleshooting escalated problems, managing infrastructure changes and ensuring customer environments remain secure, reliable and well maintained.
The role offers plenty of variety, from investigating network and firewall issues through to supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy and wider infrastructure projects.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and cloud-based technologies, although extensive cloud experience isn’t a prerequisite.
If you’ve built your career around traditional on‑premise infrastructure, networking, systems administration or a mixture of these technologies, your experience could be highly relevant.
The key is having genuine technical depth, understanding the systems you’re working with and being comfortable taking responsibility for resolving complex issues.
Previous MSP experience isn’t essential. We’d be equally interested in engineers who have worked within internal IT or infrastructure teams and have developed strong technical ownership of their environments.
We’re not looking for someone who simply has an extensive list of technologies on their CV. We’re interested in engineers who can demonstrate a genuine understanding of the systems they’ve worked with, explain how they’ve applied that knowledge and take ownership when things go wrong.
