Job summary

bet365 is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer in Manchester to lead automation projects across infrastructure and network domains. The role blends software development with systems engineering to drive efficiency, scalability, and AI-enabled automation.

You will steer critical initiatives, design reusable services, and apply IaC principles with a vendor-agnostic approach, while contributing to a high-performing, security-conscious operations team in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL for automated processes.
• Expertise in network and security technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls).
• Experience with content delivery, load balancing, and cloud-based services.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on with Ansible, Jenkins, and Git for automation.

Responsibilities

• Design automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Develop and manage IaC templates for consistent network configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable automation.
• Oversee full lifecycle of automation projects from conception to deployment.
• Conduct pre-release and post-release testing for reliability.
• Build and maintain an automation framework supporting self-service capabilities.
• Document automation processes and maintain version control for reproducibility.
• Research emerging technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
• Uphold coding standards across the automation space.
• Perform QA on prospective code to ensure best practices.
