Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Principal Information Security Engineer to lead and shape security across an enterprise technology environment. You will design and implement security frameworks, lead a small team of engineers and work across IT to embed security in design and operation.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong governance, and collaboration with infrastructure, cloud and security partners to drive improvements and ensure resilient security posture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with enterprise security platforms and tooling.
• Experience developing security automation for alert enrichment, investigation and response using SOAR platforms.
• Experience managing relationships with MSSPs, external security consultancies or specialist technology providers.
• Background in developing and implementing security governance, standards and operational processes.
• Experience supporting enterprise security architecture and secure-by-design approaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical security frameworks, standards and operating procedures.
• Lead the technical strategy for security engineering and operations, including threat detection and incident response; remain hands-on.
• Manage and improve the security technology stack and tooling integrations.
• Drive security improvements across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, application and data environments.
• Serve as senior technical authority for security across Enterprise Technology and coordinate remediation.
