Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is recruiting an IM&T Operations Engineer (Band 6) to provide authoritative IT guidance and to lead the support, build and deployment of the Trust’s server, SAN and Cloud technologies.

The post ensures rapid resolution of complex incidents affecting clinical services, oversees security and data protection, and participates in infrastructure projects to maintain availability and performance across IM&T Services.

Qualifications

• Handle detailed, diverse and complex technical issues on IT infrastructure.
• Experience building server systems, SAN storage and cloud tech.
• Degree level education with MCSE/MCSA or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative IT advice to Trust staff.
• Lead deployment and support of servers, SAN and cloud technologies.
• Own and close out BAU tickets escalated from the service desk.
• Investigate infrastructure issues and ensure rapid resolution for clinical services.
• Ensure security, availability, backups and data protection according to policy.
• Manage small to medium projects and participate in larger IT initiatives.
