Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our national Hydraulic Engineering team. Based in multiple UK locations (Reading, Brighton, Cambridge, Leeds, Edinburgh or Warrington) you’ll deliver hydraulic studies and lead technically challenging projects across water infrastructure programmes.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, develop models and reports, and collaborate with Project Managers and clients to create practical, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Hydraulic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering hydraulic projects in the UK water sector or regulated infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and transient analysis.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of hydraulic studies across water/wastewater projects.
• Develop and review hydraulic models and reports using specialist software.
• Provide guidance on pumping systems and hydraulic structures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement.
