Job summary

Sonata Software in the United Kingdom seeks a highly experienced Microsoft Exchange Hybrid Engineer to manage Exchange Online and on-premises environments, design hybrid configurations, and optimize mail flow for enterprise customers.

The role requires enterprise exposure, Active SC security clearance, excellent English communication, and strong PowerShell automation to support migrations and ongoing governance.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of overall IT experience.
• Solid Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises experience.
• Proven experience with Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Active SC Security Clearance.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong customer-facing, technical writing, presentation and training skills.
• Experience working in enterprise/customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Exchange Server 2016/2019/SE and Exchange Online.
• Design, implement and maintain Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot Hybrid Configuration Wizard (HCW), hybrid mail flow and secure mail routing.
• Manage DAG, mailbox databases, transport services, connectors, certificates and virtual directories.
• Troubleshoot mail flow, Autodiscover, Outlook connectivity, mailbox access and authentication issues.
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared/resource mailboxes, distribution groups and Microsoft 365 Groups.
• Configure mail flow rules, retention, archiving and compliance policies.
• Support Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Support Exchange migrations between On-Premises and Exchange Online.
• Manage SPF, DKIM and DMARC configurations.
• Use PowerShell / Exchange Management Shell for administration and automation.
