Job summary

Sonata Software in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Exchange Engineer to lead enterprise-grade Exchange Online and On-Premises deployments, with a focus on hybrid messaging and secure mail routing.

You will design, implement and support Exchange Hybrid environments, manage DAGs, mail flow, and migrations, and use PowerShell for automation.

The role requires 15–20 years of IT experience, strong English communication and active security clearance.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of overall IT experience.
• Solid Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises experience.
• Proven experience with Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Active SC Security Clearance.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong customer-facing, technical writing, presentation and training skills.
• Experience working in enterprise/customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Exchange Server 2016/2019/SE and Exchange Online.
• Design, implement and maintain Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot HCW, hybrid mail flow and secure mail routing.
• Manage DAG, mailbox databases, transport services, connectors, certificates and virtual directories.
• Troubleshoot mail flow, Autodiscover, Outlook connectivity, mailbox access and authentication issues.
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared/resource mailboxes, distribution groups and Microsoft 365 Groups.
• Configure mail flow rules, retention, archiving and compliance policies.
• Support Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and Defender for Office 365.
• Support Exchange migrations between On-Premises and Exchange Online.
• Manage SPF, DKIM and DMARC configurations.
• Use PowerShell / Exchange Management Shell for administration and automation.
