Job summary

National Grid is seeking an HVDC Protection and Control Engineer to shape the protection and control systems for next-generation energy infrastructure. You will contribute to concept-to-delivery across major converter projects and collaborate with engineers, OEMs and international partners.

Qualifications

• A degree, or equivalent experience, in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Systems or a related discipline.
• A genuine interest in power transmission, renewable energy integration or major infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of HVDC technology, protection and control systems, substations or electrical systems.
• The ability to analyse technical information and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
• A collaborative mindset and the confidence to contribute within a supportive engineering team.
