Job summary

GE Grid Solutions is seeking a Senior Lead Control & Protection System Engineer in the United Kingdom to drive HVDC control, protection and sequencing strategies. You will mentor engineers, lead design reviews and advance mission-critical project deliverables across the full lifecycle.

The role requires extensive experience with PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with customers and internal teams to meet performance and reliability targets.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with power systems and power electronics
• Strong problem solving and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication skills and client relationship capability

Responsibilities

• Define control system requirements for HVDC projects
• Model plant and verify using MATLAB/PSCAD
• Develop control and protection strategies and sequencing
• Lead and mentor design reviews and risk mitigation
• Convert algorithms from MATLAB/Simulink to PSCAD
• Support continuous improvement and reusable solutions
