Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Control and Protection System Application Engineer to drive HVDC control and protection design across full lifecycle. You will mentor peers, define system requirements, and translate MATLAB/Simulink concepts into PSCAD models, supporting plant models, verification, and test harness creation.

In this role you will lead technical reviews, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery while collaborating across tendering, operations, contractual, and after-sales needs on

Qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent with power systems and power electronics knowledge.
Strong ability to identify and manage technical risks and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex technical information to clients.
Ability to understand customer requirements and build lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

Define control system requirements for HVDC projects.
Prepare responses to technical queries from clients and resolve issues.
Model HVDC systems in PSCAD, MATLAB, and other tools; verify with MATLAB simulations.
Develop plant models and test harnesses; transfer designs to PSCAD.
Lead DPS studies and performance analyses to meet project specs.
Mentor team members and lead technical design reviews.
