Job summary

General Electric Company seeks an Senior Control & Protection System Application Engineer to lead HVDC control & protection system design, validation, and commissioning for VSC-based schemes. You will drive reference solutions, governance, and cross‑functional collaboration across international teams.

The role requires deep HVDC expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient projects across multiple platforms and sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent HVDC experience.
• Minimum 12 years in HVDC control and protection system design.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and governance of HVDC control & protection solutions.
• Define control philosophies, protection logic, and data exchange configurations.
• Conduct EMT studies using PSCAD/EMTP-RV and model control functions in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Perform network modelling and validation across PSCAD, PSSE, and RSCAD.
• Lead system testing, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements and SQDC adherence.
