Job summary

gevernova in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Control & Protection Application Engineer to lead HVDC software development and mentor a global team.

You will own requirements, design, implementation and testing of control and protection application software, while promoting best design practices across product development and coordinating with product and engineering teams. Proficiency in PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK, plus Agile methods, is highly valued.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Computer Science or power systems or proven HVDC experience.
Experience leading design and development of event-driven control and protection software.
Familiar with PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK for simulations.

Responsibilities

Work as part of an expert team, developing design and development skills for control and protection systems.
Execute analysis, simulation, test and integration to meet business standards.
Apply experience to solve problems and propose technically sound solutions.
Coach and mentor team members and lead small projects with low risk.
Lead continuous improvement activities and operational planning within a technical discipline.
Responsible for planning/execution within a technical discipline.
