Job summary

GE Grid Solutions is seeking a Senior Lead Control & Protection System Engineer to lead HVDC control and protection design, overseeing technical solutions for customers within an international environment. You will coordinate with multiple engineering domains and ensure delivery of compliant, cost-effective engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years’ experience in control and protection system design.
• Experience with AutoCAD, e-base, Visio.
• Experience with PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK.
• Familiar with IEC 61850 protocols.
• Strong communication and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and provide competitive HVDC control & protection solutions.
• Design AC substations diagrams with systems team.
• Prepare control, protection, and sequencing strategy specs.
• Perform dynamic studies using MATLAB/PSCAD.
• Support improvements to algorithms for fault recovery.
• Develop standard architectures and LAN networks.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity to ensure standards.
• Lead customer meetings and deliver engineering docs on time.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support.
