Job summary

GE Grid Solutions seeks a Senior Lead Control & Protection System Engineer to design and deliver HVDC control and protection functions. You will mentor the team while converting MATLAB/Simulink models to PSCAD and supporting project delivery through the full life cycle.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams on dynamic performance studies, system modelling, and design verification to meet customer specs and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with power systems and power electronics background.
• Advanced HVDC industry experience with station equipment and design.
• Proven leadership in a complex system engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Define control system requirements and meet grid stability specs.
• Lead development of control and protection strategies for HVDC.
• Convert MATLAB/Simulink algorithms to PSCAD models and verify them.
• Mentor engineers and drive continual improvements in tools and processes.
• Support tendering, operations and after-sales with technical guidance.
