Job summary

British Steel, Scunthorpe is seeking a Senior HVAC Craftsperson to join the on-site team. This hands-on role involves maintenance, minor installations, and independent work from a company vehicle, with participation in an on-call rota to support operations.

The position requires proven HVAC experience, the ability to manage workload autonomously, and readiness for a dirty industrial environment. CCSCS safety clearance and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and installation.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.
• Valid safety passport (CSCS) prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out HVAC maintenance and minor installation works across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and ensuring systems are running efficiently and safely.
• Working independently once fully onboarded.
• Using a company vehicle to travel across site and manage tasks.
• Participating in an on-call rota (approx. 1 in 3-4 weeks).
• Responding to out-of-hours call-outs when required.
