Job summary

British Steel, Scunthorpe on-site team seeks a Senior HVAC Craftsperson to perform maintenance and minor installations across the site, diagnose faults and ensure systems run safely and efficiently in a heavy industrial environment.

You will work hands-on with a company vehicle, participate in an on-call rota (roughly 1 in 3–4 weeks) and progress into an autonomous role; you'll be supported initially by an experienced engineer before becoming independent.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and installation.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.
• Valid CCSNG Safety Passport (required prior to start).
• Reliability and flexibility to support the on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out HVAC maintenance and minor installation works across the site.

• Working independently once fully onboarded.
• Using a company vehicle to travel across site and manage tasks.

This is a hands‑on role within a heavy industrial environment, offering long‑term stability, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to work both collaboratively and independently.
