Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Senior Primary Design Engineer to deliver electrical substation design up to 400kV for the Power T&D UK Wide. You will check and approve HV plant deliverables, work with BIM processes, and support procurement and planning within a safety-conscious framework.

Education includes an HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with MIET membership and progression toward CEng preferred. The role offers hybrid working with up to 40% remote work and a broad UK remit.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, degree preferred.
• MIET membership and progression towardsChartered status are advantageous.
• Experience with HV substation design and coordination with customers/suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design to customer specs and applicable standards and regulations.
• Review HV plant deliverables such as SLDs, layouts, and earthing calculations.
• Ensure models and drawings are reviewed with suppliers and BIM practices.
