Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead HV substation primary engineering efforts and deliver high‑quality designs for major power infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid/remote setup.

The role emphasizes technical delivery, standards compliance, and stakeholder coordination across UK and international projects.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in primary design for HV substations (33kV-400kV).
• Familiar with UK/international standards and utility requirements.
• Chartered status desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of primary engineering solutions for HV substations and associated infrastructure.
• Produce and review primary design deliverables including layouts, GA drawings, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, checking, and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, cost estimates, and risk assessment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards
