Deploy Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead and deliver high-quality primary engineering designs for HV substations and power infrastructure projects. The role offers hybrid or remote working options, closely connected to project teams and clients.

You will mentor junior engineers, interface with clients and project managers, and ensure designs meet UK/international standards while driving technical delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifikationen

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in primary design within HV substations (e.g. 33kV-400kV).
• Strong knowledge of UK and international standards and utility requirements.
• Proven ability to lead design tasks and review the work of others.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (desirable).

Aufgaben

• Lead the design and development of primary engineering solutions for HV substations and related infrastructure.
• Produce and review primary design deliverables including layouts, GA drawings, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, client specs, and safety requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and checks.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, cost estimates, and risk assessment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
