Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Protection and Control Design Engineer to lead HV protection projects for UK power networks. The role combines technical delivery, mentoring, and close collaboration with project teams, clients and multidisciplinary groups in a hybrid/remote setting.

You will design protection and control schemes for 11 kV–132 kV networks, support BESS integrations, and ensure compliance with ENA/NPg standards.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven UK experience in control and protection design (11kV–132kV).
• Familiar with protection relays, relay configuration, and IEC 61850.
• Knowledge of ENA/NPg standards and DNO requirements; driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control system designs for HV networks up to 132kV.
• Create connection and tripping logic diagrams and relay settings.
• Configure IEC 61850 and DNP3 schemes; prepare logic documentation.
• Review designs from ICPs and external teams for quality.
• Conduct protection coordination studies and settings calculations.
• Support project delivery through FAT and site commissioning as required.
