Job summary

Ramboll in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Director – Critical Systems to lead and develop our electrical design capability across industrial, healthcare, government, marine and infrastructure sectors. You will guide HV/LV systems, resilience and decarbonisation initiatives for private networks.

You will oversee concept to commissioning, set technical standards, and act as UK SME for 33 kV designs, ensuring ENA/IEC compliance while mentoring teams and collaborating with Ramboll

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and HV/LV design experience.
• CEng status with IET preferred.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP/Trimble).
• Experience with protection studies, fault analysis, load flow and arc flash assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept, feasibility and detailed designs for HV/LV power distribution in mission-critical environments.
• Develop equipment specifications, protection philosophies and earthing designs.
• Oversight of network modelling including protection coordination, fault level calculations, load flow and power quality studies.
• Ensure compliance with ENA, IEC, and BS standards; guide DNO interfaces and G99/G100 compliance.
• Support energy resilience and decarbonisation planning with renewables and storage.
• Provide technical assurance and governance across electrical deliverables.
