Job summary

Energy Assets is seeking a lead 33kV Electrical Design Engineer to design and oversee HV networks for renewable energy, data centres and storage projects across the UK. You will guide designs through delivery, mentor the team, and coordinate with clients, DNOs/IDNOs and contractors to ensure compliant, timely project outcomes.

The role requires responsibility from early design through commissioning, with travel to project sites as needed and a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in 33kV HV design and/or project engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of 33kV networks for utility connections, solar farms, wind farms, BESS, and data centres.
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, cable sizing, protection schemes and earthing designs.
• Oversee design delivery with internal and external stakeholders from pre-construction to commissioning.
• Develop and manage project schedules, cost estimates and risk registers.
• Ensure HSE/CDM compliance and engage with regulators and clients as needed.
