Job summary

Ramboll Group A/S in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Director – Critical Systems to lead and develop electrical design across industrial, healthcare, government, marine and infrastructure sectors. You will guide HV up to 33 kV, LV networks, and critical power systems, driving decarbonisation and resilience while ensuring high standards of quality and governance.

You will act as UK electrical SME for Critical Systems up to 33 kV, oversee feasibility to detailed design, lead protection

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with private HV networks up to 33 kV; substation design.
• Chartered Engineer status, ideally with the IET.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP/Trimble.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV/LV power distribution design for mission-critical facilities.
• Develop equipment specifications and protection philosophies.
• Conduct network modelling: protection coordination, short-circuit, load flow.
• Oversee ETAP/Trimble analyses and power quality studies.
• Provide technical due diligence and assurance on projects.
• Support energy resilience and decarbonisation planning.
