Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a High Voltage Cable Engineering Technical Director to lead technical design and management for HV cable projects in the UK. The role involves steering complex HV projects, mentoring teams, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards while supporting business growth.

You will drive strategy for HV cable design, collaborate with stakeholders across client sites and offices, and travel UK-wide.

Qualifications

• Degreequalified. Master’s degree (MEng/MSc) in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer and IET membership.
• Extensive HV cable design experience (HVAC/HVDC).
• Knowledge of IEC standards and CIGRE policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on HV cable design across projects.
• Influence practice initiatives and improve internal processes.
• Oversee HV cable design delivery for AIS/GIS HVSubstations up to 400kV and HVDC.
• Act as Technical Authority for HV cable design and governance.
