Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment is supporting a respected construction contractor to appoint a Senior HSEQ Advisor based at the Potters Bar office, with project support across the business.

You will monitor HSEQ policies, conduct site inspections and audits, drive improvements, and engage with project teams to maintain high standards on site. This is a senior, hands-on role with reporting to the HSEQ Director.

Qualifications

• Significant Health & Safety experience in construction, especially social housing/repairs/refurbishment.
• Senior advisory level experience or potential to step into senior role.
• Strong site inspection and formal HSEQ audit capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and construction industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the implementation of HSEQ policies, procedures and standards across live projects.
• Undertake regular site inspections and HSEQ audits and produce clear reports on findings.
• Identify non-conformances and risks; implement corrective actions.
• Provide practical HSEQ guidance to Project Managers, Site Managers and teams.
• Engage with project teams to drive improvements in HSEQ performance.
• Support development and implementation of HSEQ campaigns and programmes.
• Promote a positive HSEQ culture across all projects.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Lead or support incident and near-miss investigations.
