Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced SHE Manager to lead HSE strategy and assurance for a high-profile pharmaceutical flagship account across Macclesfield and Speke, with regular travel. You will drive continuous improvement, governance and safety culture in complex production, laboratory and corporate settings.

The role requires senior HSE leadership, NEBOSH IOSH qualifications, and a proven track record in cross-site environments, audits and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or Chartered IOSH qualification.
• Recent experience in a senior HSE/Health & Safety role.
• Experience across multiple sites or complex operations.
• Strong auditing, compliance and HSE investigations experience.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management.
• Analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to deliver engaging HSE training.
• Experience developing HSE strategies, plans and performance reporting.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
• Commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of HSE strategies across both sites.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, Sodexo policies and client requirements.
• Lead accident and incident investigations including RCAs and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain HSE plans, risk registers and action plans.
• Plan and oversee HSE audit programmes and ensure closure of actions.
• Monitor HSE performance through KPI/OPI reporting and trend analysis.
• Deliver and support HSE training to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Provide expert HSE guidance to operational, compliance and client teams.
• Collaborate with Sodexo's Corporate Services HSE & Risk Team and client SHE organisation.
• Support Business Continuity Planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deputise for the Operations Director at relevant meetings.
• Lead, support and develop the SHE Advisor.
• Act as ambassador for Sodexo HSE standards and industry best practice.
