Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment seeks an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing SHEQ team, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects across the region. You will provide senior-level health and safety advice, support project teams and help drive a proactive safety culture.

Experience in the water sector is desirable, with strong knowledge of UK legislation, CDM Regulations, and ISO 45001. Travel across regional project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant H&S experience in construction is required.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent occupational safety qualification.
• Professional H&S membership is expected.
• Willingness to travel across regional project sites.
• Water, utilities or infrastructure sector experience preferred.
• Experience with ISO 45001 or similar management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert H&S advice to project and SHEQ teams.
• Support the implementation of policies, procedures, risk controls and management systems.
• Lead and support audits, inspections and SHEQ assurance activities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Work closely with project teams and clients to identify and manage risks.
• Monitor performance data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Support compliance with UK H&S legislation, CDM and relevant HSE guidance.
• Promote continuous improvement and sustainable ways of working.
• Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues at all levels.
• Significant H&S experience within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.

• Appropriate professional H&S membership.
• Willingness to travel across regional project sites.
• Water, utilities or infrastructure experience.

• CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
