Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join its growing SHEQ team, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects across the region.

You will provide senior-level H&S advice, support project teams, and help drive a strong, proactive safety culture, while ensuring compliance with UK legislation, CDM and relevant HSE guidance. This role offers opportunities to influence safety performance across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Significant H&S experience within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Good understanding of HSE guidance and construction best practice.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent occupational safety qualification.
• Construction-related H&S qualification.
• Appropriate professional H&S membership.
• Willingness to travel across regional project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert H&S advice to project and SHEQ teams.
• Support the implementation of policies, procedures, risk controls and management systems.
• Lead and support audits, inspections and SHEQ assurance activities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Work closely with project teams and clients to identify and manage risks.
• Monitor performance data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Support compliance with UK H&S legislation, CDM and relevant HSE guidance.
• Promote continuous improvement and sustainable ways of working.
• Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues at all levels.
