Job summary

Alexander Associates Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing SHEQ team, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects across the Lancashire region.

You will provide senior-level H&S guidance, help drive a proactive safety culture, and ensure adherence to UK H&S legislation, CDM regulations and ISO 45001 where applicable. The role involves travel to regional project sites and close collaboration with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Significant H&S experience within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Good understanding of HSE guidance and construction best practice.
• Willingness to travel across regional project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert H&S advice to project and SHEQ teams.
• Support the implementation of policies, procedures, risk controls and management systems.
• Lead and support audits, inspections and SHEQ assurance activities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Work closely with project teams and clients to identify and manage risks.
• Monitor performance data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Support compliance with UK H&S legislation, CDM and relevant HSE guidance.
• Promote continuous improvement and sustainable ways of working.
• Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues at all levels.
