Job summary

Caerphilly County Borough Council is seeking an experienced Principal HR Officer to join the People Services Business Partner team. You will provide expert guidance on complex employee relations, attendance, recruitment, restructures and terms and conditions of employment, while helping shape HR policies and delivering training.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices and employment law.
• Experience of working in a HR service.
• Proven ability to manage complex HR cases and advise senior managers.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• A Level 7 Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent Level 7 qualification and Associate Membership of the CIPD

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations issues, attendance management, recruitment and selection, restructures, and terms and conditions of employment.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, deliver HR training, and analyse workforce data to support decision-making.
• Support the Council's transformation agenda and work with HR Managers to deliver a responsive HR service.
