Senior HR Consultant, London Borough of Newham

We're working in partnership with a local authority in the Newham area, who are looking for a highly experienced Senior HR Consultant with a proven track record within the Public Sector.

Contract: Initially 3-6 months, with potential for a permanent role.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week.

Location: E16. (The role is hybrid, requiring flexibility to work 2 days in the office.)

Pay Rate: Starting from £25+ per hour (Negotiable based on experience).

About The Role:

1. Deliver high-quality and consistent advice, guidance, and solutions to managers and employees across all aspects of HR policy and procedures, in line with legislative parameters and via the agreed service channels.
2. Provide guidance, coaching, and workshops to support line managers in becoming effective people managers.
3. Manage a portfolio of cases, providing proactive and consistent support to managers to resolve issues.
4. Lead a team within the HR Advice and Consultancy service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice on HR policies, procedures, complex casework, and organizational change.
5. Coordinate and oversee the work of the team, deploying resources effectively to support organizational priorities.

Experience Needed:

• Background in Local Authority / Public Sector.
• Comprehensive Employee Relations experience.
• Experience leading Change Projects.

Qualification Needed:

Relevant HR qualifications are preferred.
