Job summary

Cathedral Appointments Ltd in Exeter is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to provide expert guidance on employee relations and support the development of HR policy, strategy and systems. You will mentor the HR Advisor and wider team, deputising for senior staff while managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters.

The role requires strong knowledge of employment law, excellent communication, and a methodical approach to HR data and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience at HR Advisor level, preferably in a changing or fast-moving environment.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations case management and current employment law.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to coach and support colleagues at all levels.
• A high level of computer and HR systems literacy.
• An accurate, organised and methodical approach, with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support the HR Advisor and wider HR team, deputising in the absence of the HR and Payroll Supervisor and/or HR Manager.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations casework and the practical impact of employment law.
• Support restructuring and change management initiatives across the business.
• Drive the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice.
• Support the continued development of HR systems, including management reporting and data analysis.
• Take the lead on varied HR projects, supporting successful delivery of the wider HR strategy.
