The opportunity

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a new challenge? We’re recruiting a Senior HR Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract, following an internal promotion within our team.

As a Senior HR Advisor, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies, and processes.

You’ll proactively engage with managers to offer best practice advice on a range of ER case work, spotting and assessing risks and advising managers on mitigation or resolution strategies that serve the best interests of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

You’ll take ownership of your own case work from start to finish, ensuring adherence to best practice timescales and flagging any risks or concerns.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, with work location split between your home and our London Office. Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Our colleagues on blended contracts are expected to spend at least one day per week in the office, with the use of office spaces tailored to your role and activities. Flexibility is encouraged to optimize your work.

Discuss flexible working options during the application or interview process.

About you

You should have a CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent, with extensive HR knowledge and understanding of best practices, ER, employment law, ACAS code of practice, and the Equality Act.

Substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination, is essential. You should be capable of weighing evidence, reaching fair conclusions, and navigating legal complexities efficiently.

Experience managing high-volume ER cases, tribunal case preparation, restructuring, redundancy, and TUPE would be highly advantageous.

You must be an effective team player with excellent communication skills, able to build trust quickly, and manage multiple deadlines with resilience.

We seek someone passionate about employee relations who can influence managers, challenge the status quo, and promote decision-making and process improvements.

We value diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone can succeed through our EDI strategies and employee networks.
