Job summary

Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth is seeking an HPC Engineer to own the reliability, availability and performance of HPC platforms used for simulation and engineering workloads. You will administer Linux-based clusters, troubleshoot hardware, OS, network, storage and user workflows, and drive automation using Bash, Python and Ansible.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, deliver maintenance and upgrades with minimal disruption, and apply capacity planning

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux-based HPC clusters in engineering or scientific environments.
• Ability to diagnose workload, queue, performance and data movement issues.
• Experience with maintenance, upgrades, patching and change control with minimal service impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, availability and performance of HPC platforms used for simulation and engineering workloads.
• Troubleshoot across hardware, Linux OS, network, storage, applications and user workflows.
• Automate operational tasks with Bash, Python, PowerShell and Ansible.
• Manage capacity and performance; drive queue management and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve service maturity.
