Job summary
Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited seeks an HPC Systems Engineer to design, build, and optimise Linux platforms powering large-scale compute environments, across compute, storage, networking and automation.
In a highly technical engineering setting you will develop scalable tooling, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with software and operations teams to deliver reliable, high-performance infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Strong Linux systems engineering experience.
- Experience with large-scale or distributed infrastructure.
- Proficient in scripting/programming with Python, Go or C.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Salt or Puppet.
- Knowledge of storage, networking and Linux performance tuning.
- Exposure to HPC technologies such as Slurm, Lustre or GPFS is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain large-scale Linux compute infrastructure.
- Build automation for deployment, configuration and platform management.
- Optimise compute, storage and network performance.
- Develop internal tooling to improve reliability and scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Work closely with engineering teams on platform improvements.
- Support monitoring, maintenance and production operations.
