Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) and Senior Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply and long-term contracts across Bristol, Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead learning activities, cover lessons, and collaborate with teachers and SEND teams to support pupils’ progress, with access to 24/7 consultant support and market-leading pay.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial experience operating at a higher or senior Teaching Assistant level.
• Experience leading whole-class, small-group and one-to-one activities.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive classroom practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and cover lessons.
• Support pupils to make strong academic and personal progress.
• Work with teachers and SEND teams to remove barriers to learning.
