Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) and Senior Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply and long-term contracts across Swindon and Wiltshire from September 2026.

You will lead learning activities, cover classes, run small-group interventions and support pupils to make strong academic and personal progress. The role values initiative, classroom experience and commitment within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• HLTA or substantial experience at higher/senior TA level.
• Experience leading whole-class, small-group and 1:1 learning activities.
• Good safeguarding, SEND and inclusive practice knowledge.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and cover lessons when needed.
• Deliver short-term class cover and small-group interventions.
• Support assessment and progress alongside teachers and SEND teams.
• Promote high expectations and positive behaviour to build pupil confidence.
