Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Principal / Associate Highway Engineer in Manchester. You will lead highways and development schemes from concept to detailed design, coordinating with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.

You will guide technical delivery, design development and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and influence team growth in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience delivering UK highways and infrastructure projects.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of UK highway design standards, guidance and approval processes.
• Experience designing development-related highways, junctions and access arrangements.
• Experience delivering S278/S171 and S38 schemes.
• Proven ability to manage projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead highways and development infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design.
• Coordinate with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare and review General Arrangement Plans and highway designs.
• Deliver S278/S171 and S38 schemes.
• Design site access junctions, roundabouts and active travel measures.
• Manage client relationships and support proposals and business development.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with drainage, lighting, infrastructure, environmental and planning specialists.
