Job summary

Calibre Search in Leeds is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to own technical delivery of highways and drainage schemes. The role blends office and home working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, and offers a salary of £43,000–£53,000 plus an 8% pension.

Qualifications

• Ability to produce reports such as Drainage Strategies, FRAs, O&M manuals.
• Confident communicator who can guide and influence others.
• Full UK driving licence.

Senior Highway Engineer

Leeds (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home)

• £43,000 - £53,000 + 8% pension
• 35-hour week

I’m working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy (part of a larger national group) looking to add a Senior Engineer to their Leeds team. This role is ideal for someone ready to move beyond pure delivery – taking ownership of schemes, influencing design decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.

The Role

You will play a key part in delivering highways and drainage designs across a varied project portfolio (residential, commercial, healthcare, education and energy).

• Leading the technical delivery of highways and drainage schemes
• Producing and reviewing drawings, calculations, and specifications
• Supporting and mentoring engineers and technicians
• Coordinating design inputs and managing workloads
• Ensuring outputs meet standards, legislation, and best practice
• Supporting client interaction and contributing to design solutions
