Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior or Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join its Leeds team. You will lead the design and delivery of highway and drainage schemes across residential, commercial and industrial developments, from single buildings to large multi-phase projects.

You will oversee technical approvals, mentor engineers, and coordinate with clients, authorities and design teams while maintaining high standards of technical excellence and delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK development infrastructure, highways and drainage design.
• Delivery of adoptable roads and drainage schemes with technical agreements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and drainage software (MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage); Civil3D beneficial.
• Chartered or Incorporated status welcomed; progression toward professional qualification encouraged.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple projects and clients.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review drainage strategies, highway layouts, external works designs, earthworks information, technical reports, specifications and construction drawings.
• Manage the technical approval process for Section 38, Section 278, Section 104 and other highway, drainage, and sewer adoption requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, authorities and design team members; attend project meetings and resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects, overseeing workloads, programmes and resources.
• Support and mentor Engineers, Technicians and Trainees, offering technical guidance and professional development.

Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer – Leeds

An established, privately owned Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen its Leeds team.

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of highway and drainage schemes across residential, commercial and industrial developments, working on projects ranging from individual buildings to large multiphase developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and review drainage strategies, highway layouts, external works designs, earthworks information, technical reports, specifications and construction drawings.
• Manage the technical approval process associated with Section 38, Section 278, Section 104 agreements and other relevant highways, drainage and sewer adoption requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, statutory authorities and design team members; attend project meetings and resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects, overseeing workloads, programmes and project resources.
• Support and mentor Engineers, Technicians and Trainees, offering technical guidance and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong background in UK development infrastructure, particularly highways and drainage design.
• Experience delivering adoptable roads and drainage schemes with technical agreements.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, drainage software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage; Civil3D experience highly beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and build client relationships.
• Chartered or Incorporated status welcomed at Principal level; experience Engineers progressing toward professional qualification encouraged.
