Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Manchester is seeking a Senior/Principal Highway & Infrastructure Design Engineer to help lead highways, drainage and infrastructure projects. You will guide technical delivery, manage design packages and liaise with clients and authorities to ensure successful outcomes.

The role offers the opportunity to own projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth of the Manchester team while working in a collaborative, employee-owned consultancy.

Qualifications

• Strong UK consultancy experience within highways and infrastructure design.
• Experience delivering highway schemes through design and technical approval.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE, CIHT or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of highway, drainage and infrastructure design packages.
• Manage projects and technical workstreams through approval processes.
• Deliver S278 and S38 schemes with knowledge of S104 and S106.
• Produce and review detailed designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Apply standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets and drainage guidance.
• Review drawings, reports and design information for quality.
• Counsel clients, local authorities and wider project teams.
• Manage project programmes, resources and deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers/technicians.
• Support development of the team and business growth.
• Take responsibility for quality and technical delivery of projects.
