Job summary

WSP in Norwich is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Local Government team. You will contribute to highway design and project delivery across all life cycle stages, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, budget and programme compliance.

You will mentor junior staff, develop design solutions, and support technical governance, using industry standards and software such as Civil 3D and OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent for highway design.
• Working towards IEng or CEng status; professional qualifications advantageous.
• Experience in highway design and drainage systems across project life cycle.
• Knowledge of design codes such as the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage and/or PDS.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development of highway designs and projects through all stages of the project life cycle.
• Being responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements.
• Mentor and upskill junior staff helping them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.
• Coordinate engineering resources to deliver work packages for the client.
• Work collaboratively with client, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver schemes/projects.
