Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Civil/Highways Design Engineer to contribute to major road schemes across the region. You will work within the Roads business, developing designs, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and liaising with clients and authorities.

You will apply DMRB standards, mentor junior staff, and progress towards professional accreditation while benefiting from a supportive development culture and hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role.
• Working towards IEng or CEng status with a professional institute. Professional qualifications is advantageous.
• Highways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
• Experience in applying Designers Duties under CDM.
• Experience in delivering geometric designs using AutoDesk Civils 3D is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and specifications in line with DMRB.
• Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Deliver work packages with potential to manage schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support Project Managers with planning, pricing, and deliverables.
• Check, certify and authorize for issue designs and reports.
• Mentor and manage graduate engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver schemes/projects.
