Job summary

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and delivery of highway and transport schemes, from feasibility through to construction. You will mentor engineers, manage multidisciplinary teams, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet safety, quality and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and design of highway and transport schemes.
• Manage projects through feasibility, preliminary and detailed design.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders and contractors to develop practical solutions.
• Support delivery of projects through construction and completion.
• Identify, plan and deliver innovative infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure schemes are delivered safely and efficiently to legislative, contractual and quality requirements.
• Contribute to team development.
