Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Highways Engineer to join the Transportation team. You will lead design teams across a range of schemes from large projects to active travel initiatives, delivering designs and coordinating multi-disciplinary workstreams.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage resources, and work with clients to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. This hybrid role allows up to two remote days per week and supports flexible holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in civil engineering with professional status preferred.
• Extensive highway design experience and DMRB/compliance knowledge.
• Understanding of project delivery economics and contracts.
• Experience with NEC or project management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and DMRB-compliant specifications.
• Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D where applicable.
• Deliver work packages and manage schemes and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support Project Managers in planning, pricing, and deliverables.
