Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a highly skilled HGV Technician to join a franchised Croydon dealership. You will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicles, with a focus on safety, quality, and uptime.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £58,000 per annum, extensive manufacturer-led training including EV/hybrid systems, and overtime paid on Sundays and holidays. Progression opportunities and a supportive environment are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with electrical systems.
• Flexible to cover various shifts (early, late, rotating).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs to standards.
• Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and perform repairs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and routine safety checks.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations.
• Develop preventive maintenance programmes to optimise uptime.
