Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or technician.
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Knowledge of DVSA roadworthiness standards.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and safety inspections.
• Diagnose and repair faults across vehicles and trailers.
• Repair components including engines, brakes, suspension and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and rectify defects.
• Use diagnostic software to identify faults and verify repairs.
• Maintain inspection sheets and repair documentation.
• Report safety-critical defects and keep vehicles safe.
• Coordinate with transport team on progress and parts.
