Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Services Limited is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our award-winning team at The Burren, a brand-new care setting in South Bristol. The role involves supporting residents with dementia, mental health, and neurological needs in a safe, person-centred environment.

Applicants should have 3+ years in UK care, 12+ months in dementia/mental health/neurological care, and NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care with plans to pursue Level 3.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in Care within the UK (essential)
• At least 12 months' experience supporting individuals with complex dementia, mental health conditions, neurological conditions, or acquired brain injuries supporting rehabilitation and recovery
• Management experience
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care with the view of completing Level 3 following probation (essential)
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families
• A caring and empathetic approach to residents and their visitors
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Prioritising workload of the care team, seeking advice from the nurse in charge where necessary
• Participate in meetings including staff meetings, case reviews, clinical reviews, as prescribed by the Nurse in charge
• Observe resident progress against planned goals and report changes in the residents' condition or care needs to a registered nurse
• Supporting all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes and social activities
• Helping residents to remain as independent as possible
• Respecting residents right of choice, privacy and dignity at all times

The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care & supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?

What hours will you work?

Week A: 3 shifts

Week B: 4 shifts

Total hours per week: 38.5

Day & Night shifts available. Weekend work will be required.
