Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Hand Therapist to join the outpatient hand therapy team at Queen’s Hospital, Burton. The post is part-time and fixed in Band 6, supporting adults and children with acute hand injuries, degenerative conditions and post-surgery rehabilitation.

You will manage your own caseload, deliver specialist assessments, and work closely with consultants, hand specialists and the wider musculoskeletal team.

Qualifications

• Experience treating acute hand injuries.
• Experience with hand surgery rehabilitation.
• Experience with adults and children.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload, planning and prioritising patient care.
• Provide specialist assessment and treatment, using clinical reasoning to manage a range of hand conditions.
• Work collaboratively with the hand therapy team, therapy administration team, fracture clinic and orthopaedic multidisciplinary team.
• Provide support to Band 5 therapists, students and therapy assistants.
• Contribute to training and service development within the hand therapy service.
